NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences) Bengaluru, an Institute of National Importance, has started registration process for 2023 admissions in its BSc Nursing and 3 other Paramedical UG courses.

Courses offered

4 Yr BSc Nursing (+ 1 year internship)

3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology

3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Radiography

3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology

Please note that for BSc (Anaesthesia Technology), Science Non-Medical students are also eligible.

Compulsory internship : Students need to undergo compulsory Internship of one year duration immediately on successful completion of course. Stipend of Rs.13,500/- per month is paid during the internship.

About the institute : The Government of India established the All India Institute of Mental Health in 1954 in association with the then existing Mental Hospital of the Government of Karnataka. These were amalgamated into an autonomous Institute and thus the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) came into existence in 1974.

NIMHANS has been declared as an Institute of National Importance and is now a Deemed University. The Institute has 27 departments with dedicated faculty and skilled professionals in basic, behavioural and neurosciences. At any given point of time, there are nearly 785 students enrolled in different courses, and about 288 Ph.D. scholars pursuing their highest academic degree in the Institute. BSc Nursing course was introduced in the year 2006.
